Hey everyone, sorry it has been awhile since we posted last. We are well into the new semester and are actually holding auditions on Wed 2/11 and Thurs 2/12 with callbacks on Sat 2/14. If you are a guy who can sing or you know a guy who can sing send him over to the Music Annex at 8pm. Hope you can make it!

Recently, we released our newest cd, Black Label, at our winter show played to a well packed house at the IU auditorium on December 12th 2008. The week after that we embarked on a mini-tour, traveling from Washington, DC to Tacoma, Washington after our final exams. This semester has started with a show at the University of Illinois and will include performances at IU Sing, Greeks Go Green Battle of the Bands, the Women and Mens Little 500 race, our Spring Show on May 1st at the IU Auditorium, and shows in Naples, FL for Spring Break.

We will continue to try and update the blog as often as we can... for now check out this interview with our business managers Brent and Brain on Mickey Rapkin's blog. Mickey is the senior editor at GQ magazine who wrote this pretty sweet book about a cappella music called Pitch Perfect: The Quest of Collegiate A Cappella Glory. After writing an article about the founding members of SNC who are now signed to Atlantic Records, Mickey decided to interview Brent and Brian for their take on the article.

Barack Obama Rally

Hello everyone!
Tonight we were fortunate enough to sing at Barack Obama's campaign rally in Assembly Hall and sing for over 8,000 people! It was a very awesome experience. After we sang we actually got to meet Obama privately in the back and got a pretty cool picture with him!

Brian

P.S. We also met Rob Riggle from "The Daily Show" and got a picture with him as well

Possible Spring Concert DVD/CD With Your Help

Whats up Everyone!! Thanks again for helping us with what we feel like was a very successful show and send-off for Landau and C-Frye.  We are looking into the final recordings and the footage we have, and are thinking about releasing a live CD, as well as a DVD of this Spring Concert 2008.  HOWEVER!!! WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! anyone who was at this spring concert and had a camera (which as I watch the video, I know it's a lot of you!) please E-Mail me your pictures to OwenCStevenson@gmail.com.  if you have a lot - pick out the best ones and I'll put together a little slideshow for the DVD and Album Artwork!!!

Once again, Thank you so much for making this concert so memorable, and have a safe, fun summer.  We'll see you first thing in the fall if not sooner!!!

-- Owen

PS - if you have some good pictures of Straight No Chaser that are NOT from the Spring Show - please send those as well, but label where the picture was taken and we'll see where that takes us.

Schoolwork

Hey guys! I haven't posted anything yet, so I thought I would post something as I'm procrastinating my schoolwork...Our show is coming up in less than 2 weeks and we're all very excited about it! It's going to be a great show with lots of new songs that we're currently working on. Plus, it's also Corey Frye and Andrew Landau's last show. :( We're all going to miss them a lot! So, anyway, I'm going to try and get back to doing some homework, but I thought I would tell everyone hey!

P.S. I have some cool pictures of some of us with Barrack Obama from the Little 500 race! I'll post them soon......

Indiana University's Little 500

Hello all,

This weekend Straight No Chaser sang "Back Home Again in Indiana" for the start of both the Men's and Women's Little 500 bicycle races. For those who are not familiar with Little 5, it is commonly known as the greatest college weekend/week in the world. I have uploaded some photos for your viewing enjoyment.

Bend, Oregon

What's up everyone? As you may or may not know, SNC took a trip to Bend, Oregon this weekend to perform for the Cascade Festival of Music. It was a very exciting trip filled mostly with long plane rides and a couple of shows. Both of our shows were at Summit High School, one in the mid-afternoon and the other in the evening. Seeing as this was one of our first major private gigs (not to mention it was on the other side of the country) I have to admit I was a little nervous. Fortunately, the shows went off without a hitch and we even got to do a little meet & greet/autograph session after the show. Big shout out to our fans in Bend, Oregon! They were incredibly hospitable, friendly, and accommodating. It is always nice to have a warm reception when you are far away from home. Anyways, I'm about to board the plane for our flight from Denver back to Indy. See you all later.

Mid-Class blog about the Spring Concert!

What's goin on Everyone, Owen and B-Malone (Brent) here chillin in our "History of the american Musical" Class.  Pretty exciting...  Anyways - Tickets go on Sale today for our Spring Show at the Buskirk on April 26th - the Easiest way to get tickets is to stop by the Buskirk or call (812)323-3020.  The past three concerts have sold out, and we want the people dedicated enough to be reading this blog to make sure they get a ticket!  $10 with a valid Student ID or $15 without.

on another note:  if you have two coins, and one isn't a quarter, and they add up to 30 cents, what are the two coins?...
